Well, we survived SDCC 2007 and made it home to Brooklyn exhausted but intact. I wanted to get some of these photos up before tackling the mountain of email waiting for me. I seriously need to get with the future and get a damn Blackberry.

It was apparently another record setting year for the show but it all still seemed to run amazingly smooth-- especially if you had one of the coveted orange “Exhibitor” badges and associated privileges.

This was our first year sitting in the Image Comics area and we saw an increase in foot traffic and sales as compared with the small press area in years past.

Oni Press debuted Black Metal by me and artist Chuck BB at the show. It’s my first time working with Oni but those dudes are awesome and they run a great shop. Black Metal will be out Aug 8th so look out for it.

Blade Funner

Oh, God-- Someone uploaded one of my film school homework assignments to Youtube. The deal was to reproduce the opening to Blade Runner with only found objects and in camera edits in like an hour. Those are my buds Mathew Payne and Nick Savage acting(?) When we finished we dropped in the actual sound from the real film and it synced up pretty well considering.

SPACE - Day Prize 2002

I know it's a little late (only 5 years) but here is a video I just found from when Rob G and I were runners up for the 2002 Day Prize for Teenagers From Mars as presented by Dave Sim. We had to leave early to get back to NY and I was bummed we had to miss this but it's great to finally get to see it thanks to the modern marvels of internet and video technology.

The Pirates of Coney Island

So, I've been doing comics for a bit now and I've got a few books out-- Teenagers From Mars, Dead West and Filler are the big 3 as well as work in the 24/Seven and Bella and Sebastian anthologies from Image also some Batman for DC. However, the new hotness comes in the form of THE PIRATES OF CONEY ISLAND!!! Pirates is a monthly miniseries I'm doing at Image comics with the amazing artist Vasilis Lolos.
